Mini display to HDMI adapter... Help

I have my macbook hooked up to my TV using the adapter... The only picture I get is the mac wallpaper.. How do I get my macbook display on my tv?? thanks!!

By dragging whatever you want to display on the TV onto the TV.
Or you could select MIRROR DISPLAYS in System Preferences > Displays >> Arrangement.

There's also a handy keyboard shortcut that I learned not long ago to switch between mirrored displays and extended desktop modes. Just hit Command-F1 on the keyboard and it will flip between them.
