I was reading some reviews of people having problems with support issues of the new Mini Display Port Adapaters (DVI).

Our office is thinking of purchasing some Dell 20 inch Widescreen E207WFP.

Has anybody tried using this monitor with new display ports?

Many Thanks.

While I can't talk for the Dell monitor, I can speak for my experience with my new LG monitor. Basically the first thing to check is what sort of DVI socket it is, though you are probably best off getting a DVI-D dual link cable. See:

The mini Displayport to DVI adaptor sold by Apple does not support the four analogue pins. Once that is sorted then you should have a pure digital connection.

As a monitor there are some reviews around the net:

We have three dell 22inch E228wFPC,

2 are working with the new pros, and one is working with the new AIR.

Yeah it would be really smart to spend $100 on an adapter when the monitor is only maybe twice that.

OP, the regular DVI adapter is all you need; if you are considering wasting money on the dual-link adapter, save that money and get a better [or bigger] monitor next time.
