I have my new MBP 13" connected to the Samsung T240HD monitor/tv using the Monoprice Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter. The HDMI 2 port works perfectly. The HDMI 1 port is the problem: the TV just says "No Signal" when connected. This is different from "Check Cable" when the cable is unplugged because the OS reports the model of the TV and the compatible resolutions. I swapped out the HDMI cable so I know that's not the problem and the adapter & cable work in the other HDMI port. Samsung tech support says the HDMI ports are different and that HDMI 1 is for "Blu-ray players not computers"
and that's when I got off the phone as quickly as possible.
Anyone have any experience with the Monoprice adapter or other HDMI weirdness? I've gone ahead and ordered the DVI adapter instead. I'm so happy this TV has HDMI, DVI, VGA, & Component inputs - one of them has to work.
