I just got a new MBP, and I like to use my notebooks connected to my HDTV for movie watching and some occasional gaming. I was looking around at cables (mostly at monoprice) and no one seems to have a mini displayport -> hdmi cable that will carry the audio signal.

Has anyone seen them available online?

I just want a straight cable, not any adapters with a usb dongle or anything like that. If they're not available, I'll just stick with DVI.

Yes, there's at least one source that has a straight through cable that carries audio. I remember reading about it in that other monster thread about this topic. Do a search and I'm sure you'll find the thread as it's many pages long. The straight through cable was on the first page if I remember correctly.
