Sorry if the question is stupid!

If we turn a macbook pro to a monitor outside is possible to work with the lid closed, locks the monitor just outside?

Thanks for Listening! :)

I think he means he wants to use the macbook with the lid closed, i.e. start playing a movie with the output to a tv and then close the macbook... I think

I don't know the answer though, as I use an iMac.

Yes, it's possible to use it closed and hooked to an external monitor. I beleive you need to execute a Terminal command to set the preference to not sleep the machine when you close it. I suggest a Goggle search.

Simply connect the monitor and use an external mouse and keyboard to control it. When you first close the lid, it will go to sleep (although I found in Lion it switched without sleeping for me, not sure if that will be consistent behavior yet or not), and you can then wake it up with the external keyboard and work only on the external display.
