Hi,

Just wondering if the "Mini DisplayPort to" is the one and only "Mini DisplayPort to" in all of Apple's offerings or if the MP has one, MBP has one, iMac has one etc and anyone needing an adapter has to pick the right one that connects to their Mac or it will not work

Thanks,

ed

p.s.
if anyone cares to comment on how to determine the difference between "dual-link DVI" and "DVI" , would love to hear more. thanks

There is only one Mini DisplayPort, it's the same in all Macs thus all adapters should work. Newer Macs' mDP is able to carry audio though.

Dual-link DVI has maximum resolution of 2560x1600 while single-link DVI has maximum resolution of 1920x1200

Thanks Hell

I believe Dual-Link DVI can also run 2 displays at 2560x1600, whilst DVI only has half the pins, and therefore can only run 1 screen.
