Mini DisplY Port Input?

I've read that the mini display port is capable of video input.
Does this mean that if i got the mini display port to HDMI adapter, i could use it to capture footage from something like and XBOX 360?

With the 27" iMac you can do that, all other Macs don't have a video-in via the Mini DisplayPort, you have to use the USB or Firewire port for this and a capture device of course.
