I went down to the Apple Store to try and find a mini-DP to dual-link DVI adapter, but alas they had none. So I figured, well single link DVI will go up to 1920x1200 so I'll live with that for a while. So I bought a mini-DP to (single link) DVI adapter.

However, 1920x1200, or anything higher than 1280x800 was not available. So I loaded SwitchResX and sure enough it offered me higher resolutions, even up to 2560x1600. However, when attempting anything over 1280x800 the scaling is horrible, even at the supposedly native 2560x1600. I tested the monitor with Windows 10, and 1920x1200 looks halfway decent, but I can't get OS X to scale properly.

Any suggestions on how to get OS X to engage proper scaling, or do I just need to suck it up, order the dual link adapter and wait a week or two?
