I've got and older 19" VGA monitor that I use as a second monitor for bins, etc. in FCP PS etc.
Got a MDP>VGA from OWC & the monitor freaks out every once in a while - (either doesn't come on fully, flickers wildly or brings up different weird screens like rainbow colored stripes) - when I turn it on or most often when I wake it from sleep. This happens maybe every 4 days or so and works fine again on a restart.
says I've got to download EVERY update, which doesn't seem right to me, besides the comp is a workstation for my pro aps and if anything, I'd take the iAps off of it, not to mention that I'm on satellite internet and not only is it slow, but we can only download 12 Gbs in a 30 day period. All the updates would be about 10% of our allotment.
also asked first thing if I was using an adapter.
OWC first sent a MDP>DVI by mistake and I tried that on another monitor & I couldn't get it to work at all.
I'm thinking it might be the video card. I can't see why the OWC adapter would be the problem especially if it works most of the time. Even tried another VGA monitor and the same thing happened after a few days.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
