i have had my imac plugged into my 47" lcd tv for a couple years now, with the same mini dvi to hdmi converter from monoprice and the hdmi cable that came with the tv.

earlier today i unplugged it all to move my imac off my desk and give everything a clean and now i dont get any sort of response when i plug in the cables for my second display.

the hdmi cable has been checked on a bluray player to ensure it is working, and i borrowed another of the mini dvi to hdmi plugs off a friend.

please help, from other forums ive checked i have already reset the PRAM.

bumping with a question since so far no luck

could it be that some how when unplugging it and plugging it back in it shorted out? if the problem is now internal and the imac needs to be opened up to be fixed, how should i go about getting it fixed out of warranty?
