I have heard storys about how the cable, people want to close there lid and so forth.

I just want to get the most out of the cable. Do I need to attach a USB cable into the Macbook? I already have a Mighty Mouse, and a USB keyboard.

Do you have to do something so I don't have to keep the laptop closed?

Or is it pretty much impossible?

I'm not really following what you want to do.

Do you want to use the MacBook in closed lid mode?
  • Clode lid - MB goes asleep
  • Connect to power
  • Connect external screen
  • Connect a usb device - the keyboard sould be fine, but I don't have one, so I'm not sure
  • The external monitor should come to life

So you don't want to keep it closed, then you don't have to do anything. The tricky part is doing it with the lid closed. you have to have the power adaptor connected, dvi, and keyboard and mouse connected(mine is connected via bluetooth).

Wow...I feel really stupid! I ment, that I want the lid to be closed when I use my Mac.
