mini-dvi to hdmi cable

I want to connect my Macbook to my LCD. Can I use this: http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/t..._shr?_encoding=UTF8&m=A2JSBUBRVPP4SX&v=glance and HDMI cables? I'm just trying to find the cheapest, most convenient way to connect the two.

Here's a question related to this...

I don't know if I should go with HDMI or DVI or dual link DVI for my Samsung LCD.

And... should I just get them from Apple?
