First off, I've definitely searched around the forums and on google and have yet to find a solution.
I have a 2007 Macbook, which I have been using with mini dvi to hdmi adapter to play video on my TV. Recently, it has been more difficult to get this working on my new 50" TV, while my older 26" TV is still working just fine with the same cable. To clarify, I am using the same mini-dvi to hdmi adapter with an hdmi cable to connect to both TV's.
When connected to my larger tv, I can pull up my display preferences and display settings appear under the name PANASONIC (the TV I'm connecting to) in addition to the typical computer's LCD display preferences. This does not appear when the cable is not connected. I have read online that it might be an issue with Lion, which I am currently running. I never had this issue using Snow Leopard. Its very strange that my macbook is detecting this external display, but I cannot get video to display on the TV.
If anyone has had this issue, please let me know if you have found a solution.
