I have a 2008/09 (i'm unsure of the actual year) 20" imac and am wanting to connect it to my 42" lg plasma.

i initially bought a mini dvi to hdmi lead thinking that this would just plug and play. I first tried it on a samsung lcd (which i had easier access to) and i was not getting anything through at all, although the imac was was registering it as a samsung tv.

i tried it on the lg plasma and it started first time, i then tried to alter the display settings and i could not get it back on at all! i restarted the system and the tv with different settings but to no avail.

A mini dvi to vga was then purchased, i plugged it into both the samsung lcd and lg plasma and i get a picture! this picture has a terrible green tint to it, i can clearly see everything but its certainly not watchable.

what am i doing wrong? or is my mini dvi port damaged?

cheers
