Mini-DVI to VGA same as for iBook?

Can someone tell me if the iBook G4 "Mini-DVI to VGA" adapter works with the MacBook? I don't want to order another one if my old one works.

I've used the Mini-DVI to DVI I got with my PowerBook G4 with my MacBook so I assume you should be fine.

The adapter that comes with the ibook is mini-vga to vga, not mini-dvi

the one that came with the iBooks does not work, the one that came with Powerbooks does.

iBooks have mini-VGA ports and come with mini-VGA to VGA adapters.
MacBooks and 12" PowerBooks have mini-DVI ports. The PowerBooks came with mini-DVI to DVI and mini-DVI to VGA adapters that work with the MacBook. (The MacBook doesn't come with adapters.)
15" and 17" PowerBooks and MacBook Pros have full-sized DVI ports and don't come with any adapters. They don't need any for DVI displays but do for VGA displays.
