A few days ago my Mac Mini G4 froze. I had to hold down the power button to shut it down and restart it.

Since then it wont sleep, using any method (power button, apple menu, keyboard shortcut).

I have tried repairing permissions and resetting PRAM but neither has worked.

Any thoughts?

Edit: Also, it now either takes a long time to shutdown or freezes while trying.

My G4 mini has never slept, it only naps for awhile and wakes back up again. I'm planning on reinstalling OSX, and testing the sleep function before installing any software.

If your Mac keeps waking from sleep unexpectedly, then the first step to trying to fix it would be to unplug all peripherals and turn off Wake Over Ethernet in System Preferences. Do these steps one-by-one so as to narrow down what might be causing the problem, assuming it's one of these. :)
