Mini HDV tape with noise,new, was good last month desperate

I have 6 Sony HDV mini tapes for a project all was perfect last month when I watched them on TV, Now I have one tape emitting a low Hiss... all the rest of the tapes are good and as usual this one has all the best footage. I'v cheeked everything, the tape is fine it loads into FCP great so that tells me the carriage is fine, nothing rubbing I think. Before I try to open the cassette does anyone have experience with this or maybe a filter in FCS 3 or anywhere else. If not I'll be shot at dawn.

I have soundsoap and it does a great job at getting rid of hiss. Haven't used it in a while but I think I remember it being accessible as a audio effect in FCP or stand alone.
