Hi All,

I am new here & I have just upgraded the RAM & HD on my Mac mini A1176 (Intel Solo 1.5GHz). I replaced the very full OEM 60G HD with a 500G Seagate Hybrid drive (ST95005620AS) and maxed out the memory to 2G (2x1G). My plan is to upgrade the processor too (to Intel core 2 duo) but the bank account requires I take baby steps.

So today I got everything installed (I cloned the 60G HD to the Seagate, verified the boot, then installed it). Now I am having a terrible time browsing...everything is soooo sloooow. The computer is performing much better with the other apps but the web is unbearable- especially with gmail.

Is this because I didn't upgrade the processor? I also did not partition the drive (should I have?). I am planning on upgrading to Snow Leopard ASAP (currently running Tiger 10.4.11) but I'm not sure if that will help.

Any ideas? Especially cheap & easily fixed :D
