Mini i7 2012, second display via HDMI to Displayport

Hi,

I have had a backup Mac mini, that I want to use for light work, but need two screens. I have an Apple Thunderbolt screen connected, and I bought a Benfei HDMI to DisplayPort adapter, into which I plugged a working DisplayPort to Mini DisplayPort adapter. I could then plug in my 24" Cinema Display.

I can get no picture, even though the Mac knows it is connected to a second display. Are there drivers I need to download. Any ideas how to get this working?

You're plugging an adapter into an adapter, which is really janky. Try getting a direct HDMI-Mini DP adapter.

Otherwise, try swapping which monitor is plugged into which port.
