Mini Icons on Web - How To?

Forgive if this a redundant thread. Didn't find anything when I searched.

So, you know those mini-icons that appear in the tabs on web sites...? How is it done? Does anyone know the tag? Can anyone tell me what it's called so I can look it up?

They're called Favicons, and a good tutorial is found here:

I think they're great, and help distinguish bookmarks, which is great in the bookmarks menu.
