I am having trouble getting a MiniMac Dual-Core to properly connect to a G5 running the latest version of OSX Server using LDAPv3 for open directory authentication. Open Directory is properly configured on the server. I know this because a G4 is currently configured how all the Apple documentation tell you to and it works beautifully.
The problem: The mini mac will bind itself to the LDAP server successfully using /Applictions/Utilities/Directory Access. The server will then properly list the server under its known connected computers. This step in itself required Directory Admin authentication so I know that data is going back and forth. However, when at the login screen the "Other..." box never appears as it does on the G4 and the status of the network accounts taunts me with a red light "Network Accounts Unavailable"
Is there something ridiculously obvious that I'm missing here? Is there a checkbox hidden that I am unaware of? Thanks in advance!
