Hey guys I'm having trouble connecting the mini video port to hdmi wire from monoprice. I heard all you do is to plug it in and it works seamlessly. It kind of did. However, I can't make it stretch full screen on 1080p. I have a samsung ln52a650. Its 1080p but its like in a box. The only one that is full screen is the strech version of 1024x768 (stretched).

Are you in mirrored mode? If so, switch to extended or clamshell and set the resolution to the highest for the external monitor.
Uncheck "Mirror Displays" under "Arrangement" in "Displays" for extended. For clamshell mode, you wake up the computer with the external attached and the macbook lid closed.
