A friend has dropped off her iPod with me because there's something wrong with it. When it's turned on, the wall adapter picture comes up. I've connected it to a wall adapter and my computer, but that's all it displays. I looked on Apple's support site, and it says that that picture means that it's connected via a low or no power connection (which is bull). It doesn't mount when I connect it via USB. Is it dead?

I can't reset, because it doesn't acknowledge any commands. It doesn't mount, as I said previously, and I'm using USB 2.0. I'm about to try FireWire to see what it does.
