Mini SD burn speed?

I have a RevA mini with a SD, and I am using Samsung 8x DVD-R discs. I THOUGHT that I should be burning at 4x (max speed of the mini SD, right)?

When I burn a disc in Popcorn it maxes out at 2x, anyone have any theories why? I haven't tried burning anything in Disk Utility yet (a disc is still burning in Popcorn right now) but I thought maybe someone would have some ideas about this in the meantime.

Well, Disk Utility only sees it as 2x as well... I'll have to try and find another DVD-R drive (the only other one I have is 2x, so not a lot of help that'll be)!

Was I mistaken? Is the mini SD only 2x in the RevA's?
