I bought a basic 2011 Mini 2.3 with only the Intel inboard graphics. Does anyone know if I can buy the Radeon 6630m graphics board anywhere. And will it work if I just plug it in? Cant see why not, but thought I would check.

Where would you want to "plug it in" into? The GPU is soldered to the mainboard in the MacMini.

P.S: This is the iMac subforum ;)

Sorry about the wrong forum. Thought I had navigated away to the Mini forum, but obviously not!

I didn't realise the Radeon GPU meant a different motherboard. I assumed it was an add in card, as per laptops.

Are you sure about this?

I remember seeing some teardown pictures of the Radeon ship soldered to the mainboard, so yes, I'm rather sure.

Generally with all macs except the Pro it's very difficult if not impossible to swap graphics cards.
