Just replaced the hard drive on my mac mini apple store told me it was ka put so I installed a new one but it wont boot I ve treid holding down the the c key with the OS start up disk but all I get is a folder with a big ? in it . Any help would be a big help Thanks gf1075

if its a new unformated hard drive you have to put in the mac start up disk then choose disk utility the top menu. under partition tab page there is an option somewhere to partition it with guid partition table.

There is no operating system for the computer to proceed through the boot process with. As Acorn posted you'll have to format the drive for use by the Mac OS and install either Tiger or Leopard onto the computer. Hope you managed to pull off information from the original drive before it crashed...
