We have an iPad mini 2nd gen which recently upgraded through the 9.x series. Everything seems pretty great except Safari. Display is OK, but typing anything in is uselessly slow - to the point where you often think it has crashed.

Is this the common experience?

no. do a hard reset. if that doesn't fix it, do a clean install, or at least back up your device and then wipe and reinstall your stuff. your experience is not shared by me and I've not seen others write with a similar problem.

Did all of those things, same problem.

Appears to be related to the "I'll guess what you're trying to type into the address bar".

Just disable that in the options. I've not had that experience.
