I'm trying to extend my DVI connection on an ACD to the MacBook Pro, via the MDP DVI adapter. Unfortunately, I just ran into the problem that Apple have removed the analogue pin slots on the adapter, and my DVI cable has them, leading to no dice.

My thought is that whether it is possible to simply pull out the analogue pins from the DVI extension cable as I won't be using them?

I tried this on a dell at work and it did not work, but I have not with the mdp adapter.

Was this on the display cable itself (ie: the one joined to the monitor) or an extension? My understanding for Apple is that they only use the digital pins.
