I recently bought a Dynex (Bestbuy brand) Minidisplayport->HDMI adapter and this does not work on my 15" 2010 MBP. The screen will flicker blue but there won't be any displays available in the display panel. I tried this on my 46" Samsung LCD TV and my 23" LG Monitor (Both are 1080P). If I use my MDP->VGA it works fine. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 4: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_3 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8J2 Safari/6533.18.5)

I am using a Dynex MDP->HDMI adaptor with no issues on my 2011 MBP. I use an external 24" Acer LED monitor. Picture is perfect with the adaptor and sound works through it as well. You probably got a defective adaptor.

Hmm I just tried it on a 2010 17" MBP and the same problem.

Return the adapter, go to your local Apple store, and get a Kanex or Atlona branded one. They've actually been tested in Apple's hardware compatibility labs to work with your hardware (I don't know if Dynex has or not).

I contacted the seller and he is going to send me another one.

Yes, the adapter is probably defective. I took a risk and purchased one from amazon for about $6 a couple weeks ago, along with a $2.00 HDMI cable and to my surprise they work perfectly. I love it for movies/netflix. But I have a 2011 MBP so idk if that makes a difference.
