MiniDVI to DVI to HDMI

Hi is this possiable MiniDVI to DVI to HDMI also could you tell me if once I have connected up my macbook to my LCD TV, is there any way to close the mack book and only use the TV as the main screen?

Yes you can (I had my MB connected to my HDTV this way) and yes you can. Working the macbook in closed lid (clamshell) mode is discussed on the apple site.
