I'll be picking up a new Macbook soon, and I'll definitely want to be using my LCD as an external monitor. But the one problem is, my monitor is a little older, and only has a VGA input. And the Apple Canada store does not seem to sell the miniDVI-VGA adapters anymore, only the miniDVI-DVI ones.

I do have at least 2 little DVI-VGA converters kicking around somewhere. Would these work with the miniDVI-DVI cable? I'm certian the converters I have are built for DVI-I, due to their age, while the cable is DVI-D.

So, would I still be able to connect my VGA monitor with only the one purchase, or am I pretty much screwed here?

Edit: Damn, I feel stupid now. They still do have the miniDVI-VGA connectors, just only under the 'Displays' substore. But if the DVI-D converter would work, I guess I might as well get that for if I decide to get a new monitor sometime.
