Minimize windows problem

When I'm working on Maya, I have Outliner window beside and sometimes I minimized it but when I switch to another application and let's say Chrome (or any other application) the Outliner window will pop out and I have to minimize it again

Is there a way to stop an application's alternative window to pop out when I switch to another application?

Sorry if I don't explain it correctly
