I am using two cell phones, one on the Verizon EDGE network and the other on the T-Mobile EDGE network. I recently read that carriers are planning a 2G shutdown to make room for LTE! Will my service still work? I don't need to use data just voice and text so can I just use that still? When is 2G supposed to go away for these carriers in the Twin Cities? Thanks!

T-Mobile USA is not planning on shutting down its entire 2G network. They're going to re-purpose much of the spectrum currently being used by the older protocol, but a slim slice of airwaves will continue to broadcast EDGE for quite some time.
