If I really, really, look for it, on the left side of the iMac 27" screen, there's what looks like a little dark spec. I'm not sure if it's a dead pixel or a small monitor defect.

Is this type of defect normal?

No reason to return the thing, right?

Thanks in advance for any (comforting <s>) replies.

Hey HH!

How best to send the image?

Actually, nothing shows up on the screenshot image so I guess it's a minor monitor glass defect, eh?

I can see the dot on the screen, but snagit (for the mac!) doesn't show anything in the screen shot.

You can either attach it by clicking
attach.gif
or use e.g. ImageShack and then post the link

You have to take pic with a camera as screenshot is digital and just makes a pic of what is shown, there is no camera in the display

I'm an idiot. Sorry.

How to get the image to you?

If it annoys you, return it. Is recognizable with all backgrounds or only with certain colored ones?

Really noticeable with white and blue.

However, it is annoying so I will swap the machine out tomorrow.

(now, time to wipe the disk and re-install OS/X)

The Apple store was quite nice about it.

Thanks HH!
