Hi,

On my Macpro, recently since installing a few new hard drives it takes a while to make the "Apple bong" noise. The fans spin at full RPM for about 5-6 seconds then it decides to boot. Loading times are as normal after the "bong".

Is it anything to worry about?

Thanks

Darren

It should be fine. There's more hardware for the Mac to check and initialise so it should take a little longer. I wouldn't have thought it to be this noticeable, but I don't know the specifics of your setup. :)

Hi,

Thanks for your reply.

I've got 4 X 512mb - When i installed this from new it was fine.

Then installed a 2nd Hard Drive ( 2x 160gb ) - Still fine
Then Installed a 3rd Hard Drive (320bg) - Now takes a while to load.

I'm going to remove all the oter drives later today and see what happens.
