It's so ugly. I don't see the point of the huge thing sticking out...?

It looks like that big center piece is housing a series of hard drives... most likely a RAID array, with a dual boot stuation, or a set of drives for EACH system.
 
well im pretty sure the point of the middle part is because currently there is no way to water cool a hardrive so he made a seperate housing for the harddrifes away from the water cooled componenets. So they are in their own wind tunnel. Smart idea.
 
That's the ugliest Frankenstein computer I've ever seen. Why is the G4 water cooled anyways? I guess it's geek factor and not wanting to use fans.
