Mirror Rebuild takes how long!?!

Hi,

I accidentally nudged a USB cable I have the other day on a 2x2TB Raid Mirror (2 external USB2 drives)....and 5 days later I am only 57% of a rebuild of the mirror slice....living in fear of my other drive failing, dreading a power cut, and not sure if I can copy the data of to another drive during this process?

Are my concerns valid, and is this time to rebuild a mirror typical??
