Mirroring macbook moniter with a non-wide screen.

I'm trying to mirror my macbook's moniter with a 15" NON widescreen monitor.

Every time I try to change the resolution on the other monitor, it changes both.

Is it even possible to do this without having big black bars on the screen, as if I was watching a widescreen movie on an old TV?

If you are mirroring then the screen will change to non-widescreen can't stop it.

However if you span the wide screen remains wide screen and the 4:3 remains 4:3.

If both screens didn't have the same resolution, it wouldn't be mirroring
