Mirroring my Iphone on Macbook Pro (2011 High Sierra) using QT Player

Hello:

I learned from Youtube to mirror my iPhone on a Macbook Pro using QT player. When I tried it, my QT player (triangle next to the "record" button) wouldn't give me the option of using iPhone as the source. I am using a lightning cable already. What can I be missing, please suggest. Thanks.
