iPad Mirroring with AppleTV on iPad Air.. anyway to make it full screen?

I tried mirroring with my iPad Air and not only does it not fill up the screen but the display is even smaller than when I mirror with my iPhone 5. Anyone know of any way to make my iPad Air's mirroring fill up my TV screen more? It does not look very good at all.

If your tv's remote has a format button, use that to fill your screen.
