Missed Pre-Order but still want an Iphone 3GS on Friday? Here's an option...

Good afternoon!

So I pre-ordered the Iphone through Apple the same day it was announced. This will be my first Iphone so I really didn't know what the expect with lines, wait lists, etc. I've been paying close attention to the hype building up to the launch this Friday and as much as I WANT my Iphone 3g S asap, waiting in line 6 hours / overnight at the Apple store wasn't an option for me. I also read a lot of people missed out on the AT&T pre-purchase so are concerned they may not be able to get one on Friday.

Anyways I caught on this forum that BEST BUY will be also selling them on Friday. With all the hype focused on picking one up from either AT&T or the APPLE store, I thought I'd look into it.

As of Tuesday, 12-Noon PST, Orange-California, I was #14 on the list for Friday. You have to provide a $50 deposit which you gets you a $50 gift card that you can apply to the Iphone purchase or anything else in the store. From what she told me, rather than wait in line, they're going to give me a call on Friday as to when to come into the store. I spied the little pre-order sheet and it looks like I'm slotted for early afternoon Friday.

Anyways, just an option for those that missed out on the Pre-order and still want one badly on Friday.

Yep! But from I'm gathering, the wait in line at the Apple store is going to be freaking huge. Again, its option. Nothing more.
 
Hey if you're guaranteed to still pre-order through the Apple Store and get it on Friday :) then all the power to you brother.
 
I did the Best Buy thing today, however they are out of Black but besides that I wanted the white 16GB anyway so I was in luck, according to the girl at the counter most of NJ still has pre-orders available, so call before you go, it will save you the trip and I purchased the $50.00 gift card that I will redeem on Friday this way I only owe $149.00 when I pick up my phone.

Can't wait, I even took Friday off, how sad am I:D

Since getting the 3G 2 weeks ago I love my phone and I am Jonzing for the new one, especially if it really does run quicker on AT&T.....:rolleyes:
 
Wicked, I hear ya bud :)

I TOTALLY wanted to take Friday off and just be stupid in the line with everyone else lol. I even called the Apple Store I pre-ordered at to find out if there was an optimal time to just get in and out within an hour. She said "We had lines for weeks for the other releases". Unfortunately I have 2 meetings I can't freaking blow off on Friday so we'll see.

You're not alone btw :) I'm freaking pumped for this thing. I just ditched my Blackberry Storm so had to resort to using this POS Verizon Chocolate until this Friday.
