I have the feeling that since iOS 26 and the iPhone 17 base model, I'm experiencing many more unregistered touches on the display, especially on the sides. Can anyone confirm this?
It’ll likely be software related and should be resolved with further updates. This is quite annoying but it’s not reproducible enough that I could show it at a genius bar appointment so I feel like I’m kinda stuck with it…
I’m assuming it’s hardware related?
More than likely it is related to smaller bezels and you unintentionally touching the screen in another area at the same time. If you don't use a case this is even more relevant, but can happen regardless and is a thing when transitioning from an older phone with wide bezels like iPhone 13/14.This is quite annoying but it’s not reproducible enough that I could show it at a genius bar appointment so I feel like I’m kinda stuck with it…

I have had this experience on and off usually in certain apps since the 15PM. At first I thought it was due to the Tempered Glass Screen protector I had on it but with 17 PM I don’t have a screen protector at all and I still experience this here and there.I have the feeling that since iOS 26 and the iPhone 17 base model, I'm experiencing many more unregistered touches on the display, especially on the sides.
