I have the feeling that since iOS 26 and the iPhone 17 base model, I'm experiencing many more unregistered touches on the display, especially on the sides. Can anyone confirm this?

This is quite annoying but it’s not reproducible enough that I could show it at a genius bar appointment so I feel like I’m kinda stuck with it…

More than likely it is related to smaller bezels and you unintentionally touching the screen in another area at the same time. If you don't use a case this is even more relevant, but can happen regardless and is a thing when transitioning from an older phone with wide bezels like iPhone 13/14.
I have had this experience on and off usually in certain apps since the 15PM. At first I thought it was due to the Tempered Glass Screen protector I had on it but with 17 PM I don’t have a screen protector at all and I still experience this here and there.
It seems to mainly happen in WhatsApp for me; although it could be because I do most of my typing in that app lol
