I thought my iPhone was syncing fine with my MacBook Pro, but I recently noticed that while I have 342 contacts in my iPhone, I only have 338 cards in my address book. I even created a contact on my iPhone called Test Entry to see if it makes it into my address book but no luck. It's on my iPhone but not on my laptop. I've tried checking the settings on my iPhone, the sync settings in iTunes and the sync settings in my MobileMe preferences. I've also try reseting my sync via my MobileMe preferences. Nothing works to get the Test Entry to appear in my address book.

I need the ability to create a new contact on my iPhone and have it automatically appear in my laptop address book. Isn't that what sync involves? I think my only option left now is to replace the data in my iPhone with what is on my laptop via iTunes, but I don't want to lose the 4 contacts. And how do I know if there were edits within the entries that never got synced? Do I really have to go thru every contact and confirm that the data is in sync manually???
