I just upgraded to the new 3GS and "thought" that everything was properly backed up. After restoring the backup, I seem to be missing the slingplayer that I purchased and clicking "transfer purchases" didn't work. Neither did going into the app store on itunes for redownloading. I wonder why it didn't transfer after I restored the backup. Do I have to repurchase this app for $30?

You can redownload it for free, or just check to see if its set to sync. To do that, click on Applications in iTunes on your iPhone's settings page. Then in the list of applications, make sure Sling Player is checked. Then click apply and it will sync to your iPhone!
