With iTunes, if there was no official artist picture, they would use album artwork instead. I think it went away with Apple Music. I even remember one of the Apple sites complaining about it.
I just installed Apple Music on my Android work phone. Every artist has a picture pulled from album artwork - just like it used to be on iOS/Mac. This is preferable to the microphone place holder image. Is there any way to change this on iOS?
