Missing Available Space on IP4

All,

I am continually howing a difference in available space. Itunes 10.01.22 shows 3.3GB where my device (iPhone4, 16Gb, non-JB) shows 1.7GB. Any thoughts on this and which is correct?

I've seen that with my iPhone too. However, I too haven't figured out why it's doing that. With mine it usually shows less space in iTunes and more when I look at the free space through my phone.
