OS X 10.5.6.

I've got an AES-256 encrypted .sparsebundle file, with a maximum capacity of 30GB.

According to the Finder, it takes up 29GB of space. There's only 17GB of files on it, though.

I recently erased 12GB of data from the disk image. Trash is empty. There are no hidden files on the disk taking up the room.

What can I do to get the space back?

Erasing free space didn't work. I even erased free space on the disk image, which seems to have made it worse, now taking up the full 30GB of space, despite only 10GB being used.
