Missing email

There I was, just checking over an email I had written and I somehow managed to put in into trash. I went into trash and found the runaway email...............then it vanished and I have no idea where it went.

I tried going in to Time Machine to go back a day but that didn't bring it back.

Anybody know how to retrieve such thing?
