Missing emails in mail when transferring from old imac to new imac

Hi there,

I tried following these instructions on how to transfer email from one imac to another and i have had partial success whereby I have emails from the past week, but emails prior to that are not showing up. I then followed advice from the thread discussion to delete the envelope files in the mail data folder and then reopen mail again but the envelope files reappear again.
What can i be doing wrong? Can anyone help?!

Try to re-index each mail folder. Use the Mail application for this: Select the mail folder (in Mail), then in menu "Mailbox" choose "Rebuild". Don't panic, it can take several minutes until you see something on large mailboxes. Repeat for every mailbox (and sub-mailbox!)
