Missing encoded files- ffmpegx

I feel like such an idiot right now:confused:

This SHOULD be simple but...
I chose an avi file to encode to dvdmpeg2 using ffmpegx. Tried saving to 3 different locations but there is no file after it's finished processing. Nothing! Like I didn't even click encode at all. What surely simple point am I missing here?
